the high nickel blocks were used for marine applications.. boat motors.. they are a prized possession to engine builders due to their higher nickel and tin content.. to my knowledge they never used these motors in cars...
but you don't need a high nickel block for a 383 stroker.. any 327 or 350 motor will work
