What car do i get to replace my written off Ford Fiesta?

I'm now home from hospital after three weeks recovery from an accident that happened at the beginning of October that wrote my car off due to surprise foul weather.
I had a 2007 Ford Fiesta ST which sadly can not be repaired and is known for saving my life. This Fiesta was being paid for on finance and my insurers paid the remainder off to honour their part of sorting the claim.
What should i look at next? I am not allowed to drive for six months because my brain injury has to heal but i still wonder what the next car will be.
Any suggestions which are insurance friendly will be considered. My insurance has risen by £400 which i checked out after learning of my car's damage. My last policy was £695 fully comprehensive cover.
If anyone can tell me of their own stories to do with accidents, i will gratefully read in earnest so i can help myself with clarity. I am so sorry for others who have been through car accidents but i like to have hope for the aftermath.

Thanks for your help.

I've never been in a car accident, thankfully, but my family have had a few Renault's. Two are in heavy use without a problem and one (an E reg) we only got rid of a few years ago because it became too expensive to run.

I would encourage a Renault.

Renault Clio's are decidedly cheap to insure, as well.
