What can't my laptop play this PC game? Star Wars EAW?ld you like to ask?

I play Star Wars Empire At War on my PC and it works fine. But when I try to play it on my laptop (which has a much faster processor), the space battles work fine but the picture on the land battles dosen't work! The picture is just white and all you can see it the bar at the bottom and you can just make out the characters on the screen.
Why dosen't the picture work on my laptop when it works fine on my PC?
