So this is my first ever time attending college and I'm not familiar with how everything works. I applied for financial aid and was approved for a "Pell Grant" .....? This is what it pretty much says:
Financial Aid Award
Federal Pell Grant- Accepted
Fall 2009- $2,675.00
Spring 2010- $2,675.00
Total- $5,350.00
Now I just got a check in the mail for $1,000 and I don't know what I'm supposed to use it for.
I live at home with parent (even though I pay for everything) and I'm going to move out soon, so can I use the money for rent and stuff like that? Also, is this something I have to pay back later? I didn't get any other grants/loans, the pell grant was pretty much all. Some one who is familiar with this please explain how this works =(
Also, what if I don't pass my classes, then do I have to pay it back? I need details of how a Pell Grant works please. = /
