on ground to deter them? Something that will not kill them, but stop the mongrels from doing it.Seriously any ideas.
Long story, moved in here not that long ago,the neighbours house door goes into our front garden,we are at the side, weird set up,she just got a dog and mutt going in to our garden. There has never been a fence the last 40 years at this house,so I don,t want to her to think we are taking over, but it is my garden. At the moment I have enough problems without falling out with these bampots,Iwould get a gate in a minute, but my partner said no.A quick solution would help just now.

Dogs are very sensitive to smell.

So if you put something nasty on your path, it will have to be strong enough to make them go away - for example - and obviously you can't use this example, "skunk urine".

If you put skunk urine on your path, you're going to smell it too - what would you rather have, dog poo or skunk urine?

So don't put anything on your path as it will only attract them and probably make them throw up if it's too nasty.

The common sense thing to do: just put a fence up.
