The best thing to do, since it's an older vehicle, is to figure out a way to power wash the space between the radiator and the A/C condenser. This area collects bugs, leaves, road debris, flower fuzz, and everything else it can. You may have to loosen a few screws, but the results will pay off. While your at it, power wash your entire engine bay. Leaking engine seals attract and glue things to the engine block, holding heat in. Power washing helps the block to "breathe." before you go installing anything else to the engine, do a motor flush with butyl cellosolve. This removes all the built up sludge, which adds to extra internal heat as well. Swear off "regular" engine oils forever, as they ALWAYs break down and leave junk in lifters and other engine internals. This costs fuel mileage and engine wear. Use ONLY Mobil One, Amzoil or ELF oil in it, after cleaning. Make sure that the container reads, "designed for use in Chrysler products", or words to that effect. Realize that you are saving money all the way around, as you can extend oil change intervals to 15,000 miles, or more depending upon use. All the while you are driving, these exceptional oils are washing things through, and preventing sludge from forming. Oil should lubricate, cool, and CLEAN, not create power robbing sludge from harmful oil vapors. While you are at it, install a set of Bosch Platinum or Fusion spark plugs. You will gain more power and fuel mileage over the factory installed units, and keep things even cooler. Good Luck!!
