I'll make this short and simple.
I graduate high school in 2010, and I plan on going to a college and getting a major that my family doesn't approve, because it's not a doctor or a lawyer or whatever, so they're refusing to help me. Really, they're making it even more difficult because they constantly harass me because I'm making the "biggest mistake of my life", even though the majority of them dropped out or partied too much and got kicked out, and I wish they would either help me, or just leave me alone and NOT harass me if they're not going to help.
The few family that do support me, can't cosign for me for student loans or anything, because their credit is horrible.
What can I do?
I'm only 17 and I've never had a job or done taxes, if that helps, but I'm trying my best to find a part-time job after school.
I know my family, and they just want me to be a doctor/dentist/nurse/lawyer so I'll make big bucks, and they want free check-ups or free legal crap. :/ They're selfish hicks who only care about themselves, sigh. I've tried to compromise, but they always say "NO, YOU ARE _GOING_ TO BE A DOCTOR/LAWYER/whatever"
THEY WILL NOT COMPROMISE. I have even told them that I have no interest at all in those things, and that I feel really uncomfortable around doctors, needles, and blood, but they don't listen and tell me to just "suck it up and stop being a baby".
