Ok well I have someone coming to stay with me, I'm quite fond of her and she knows I'm not very well off. But usually I only eat noodles and crap that I can cook in the microwave and things on toast or soup til I get a cooker. Thing is I want to do something as nice as possible. I only have a kettle really and microwave grill combo thingy. (not oven or stove /hob) So what kind of things can I cook? Something simple preferably as I don't want to risk messing it up, haha.

Oh and she cannot have the sugar in milk whatever it's called, I forgot the technical name.

Please help! Open to all suggestions!
Think I might be going with some sort of peppers + chicken breast / red onion skewers, maybe with a salad? But what type of salad and what seasoning? and should I put seasoning on the skewers or the salad?!

Simple Recipe for Paneer and Shimla Mirch :

The term is lactose-intolerant.

There are a lot of things you could do with the grill, but I don't know how well that grill works and grilled salmon or something is simple to make but easy to under or overcook in an erratic grill. If you know the grill is ok, then try that and serve with a dairy-free dijon sauce (which you can buy pre-made) and instant rice.

Alternatively, buy a packaged salad mix, then grill some chicken. It's pretty hard to mess up grilled chicken, even if the grill isn't that great. Or buy pre-cooked shrimp to put in it. Maybe a caesar salad.

Safest bet though is probably pasta (you can buy fresh pasta to make it taste better) and then buy a store-made meat sauce or something.

IF you have a grill, you could try for example making some Japanese yakitori? or maybe gai satay, thai pork skewers. You could make burgers with a grill? Or maybe get yourself a portable induction stove top ?. They are cheap, equivalent to a 12000 BTU stove some of the models etc.
