What can be wrong?

Hello,

A few weeks back or so I used to sit for a lot of hours in my room studying for my exams. Perhaps I took a wrong posture and experienced pain in my back, which at first moved from the upper to the lower back.

A couple of weeks later I felt the pain reduce and concentrate little but still there in my lower back. Especially when I try and bend backwarRAB I noticed pain in a certain region. Subsequently, after bending back and then bending totally forward with knees straight I hear some stretching/tearing sound with little/no pain.

I thought that perhaps by not moving much I got a bit of a "stiff" back so I went to the gym three weeks after first experiencing pain to try and work out my back. It appears that the pain has gotten worse and now when I try to bend forward with knees straight it hurts rather a lot compared to before in the lower back. Also whilst walking I feel rather uneasy due to this.

Is some bone fractured/broken or is this muscular/fibre problem?

Thanks.
