I am about to return my third defective iphone. That makes four so far in under a year. Luckily, Apple has a warranty on the iphone that allows you to return with in a year for a free replacement. But seriously, at a rate of one new phone every 3 months, I am not confident that I won't experience continued problems.
The problems are not my fault by the way. I will list them:
1st phone: the 3g radio died suddenly. Was unable to connect to 3g network. Mildly frustrating.
2nd phone: receiver stopped working. No one could hear me when I called them. VERY FRUSTRATING
3rd phone: bad firmware. Constantly shuts down and "dumps kernel". Weird white writing on screen tells of "panic mode" and system restore required. Contacts lost. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.
So... My question is, is it reasonable for me to ask for an extended warranty since issues are so commonplace? What else should I ask for as compensation for my time and energy? an ipad? Give me some ideas. And also does anyone have experience with faulty iphones and working with apple to make the situation better?
OK let me clarify:
Despite the random defects I actually like the iphone. I have a year left in contract with att. Not going to pay to break the contract.
If you could, please answer in the above stated context. If you have helpful suggestions, great. If not please don't lurk out from under a bridge and hijack my post with a Droid product drop. Thanks!
