what business should i start now. i have about 20k, i live in Chicago. something that has a better chance in future when the economy starts getting better. Personally i am interested in food (not restaurants or grocery stores.) something like i wanna have my own small processing plant for example i buy potato s from farms and than clean them pack them and than sell them to different people. i hope u getting my idea.
 
Do a business that you love doing and it won't be hard work for you.

Also, don't forget to take your business online so you can have a greater reach of audience. The more people who know about your business, the more income you will get especially if you offer great service.
 
Here is a novel idea. How about growing specialty products using hydroponics. There are a number of small growers using hydroponic growing systems to grow tropical fruits and vegetables here in the U.S. and they are selling the items for less due to the lack of duties and shipping required.

All you would need is a greenhouse (easily found at a lot of auctions around the country) a plot of land (you can lease some fairly cheap) and a hydroponic growing system, some trucks and some buyers.
