I'm 21, I live at home, I work in retail. My life is going nowhere.
I want to get out there and do something. I've decided that I want to join the US military to serve my country. My long term goal is to become a law enforcement officer, and I know that military experience is a good step towards it. (I know there are other ways to do that, like getting a criminal justice degree.. but I want to get out there and do something right now.)
My question is, what branch would be the best to join? Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast guard, border patrol, etc?
1. Which would benefit me the most for my long term goals?
2. Which one will kick my ass, put me in gear, and get my life on track?
3. Which is the best experience?
4. Which makes you feel like you're actually doing something?
5. And the least of my worries, which pays the best?
6. And which would YOU join, or have you joined?
I'm really only looking for responses from those who have served. Its not that I don't appreciate comments from others, but I would like some information from experiences from the inside.
