What books should I read?

I'm a 20 year old white male who goes to college and lives in Florida. I've read a lot of classic books (Catcher in the Rye, Lord of the Flies, In Cold Blood, Wuthering Heights, Once and Future King, Grapes of Wrath ...) but I want to find more. I could use some help in the selection process. Tell me any books that are personal favorites of yours or that you just think I would enjoy or both! p.s. if you say something stupid like Twilight or Harry Potter I will totally find you and jam a pencil in your eye! Thanks!

The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay is excellent. It's amazing. A very, very intense read. Oh, and the unabridged is the only way to go if you want the full impact.

Life of Pi by Yann Martel isn't a classic yet, but I found it fascinating. If you are into magical realism, read this.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a classic. If you haven't read it, you really should.

1984 by George Orwell. Another classic, and a must-read for anyone.

Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut. If you enjoy war stories, then I bet you'd like this one.

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. Big book, translated from French. Really good.

Moby Dick by Herman Melville. If you like classics, you've probably already read this. But if not, you should.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is good, you'll like it if you liked Wuthering Heights. You could try Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and then if you like that Sense and Sensibility, Northanger Abbey, and Emma. If you like Lord Of The Flies you could try some Orwell, 1984 and Animal Farm are his most famous ones, and if you like them try Down And Out In Paris And London. From The Catcher In The Rye, I'd suggest Vernon God Little by DBC Pierre, and The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks (although that one is very different, it's just another bildungsroman). The Hunchback Of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo is one of my personal favourites, it's even darker and more dramatic than Wuthering Heights.
