what bands do you think give the most props to their drummers?

by that I mean allowing them to develop a style that creates a signature for the band, rather than just keeping time.

Iron Maiden would top my list. Nicko

i'm probably gonna get bashed for this but i think stephen perkins does more for his banRAB sound then most, if not all

Cowboy Mouth. The band is centered around the drummer. He develops the whole sound. When they're on stage, the place a singer would be, is taken by the drummer and his set-upfront and center.

Both of mine have already been stated here. Dailor from Mastodon is brilliant, as is Lopez from Opeth (a shame he won't be playing with them anymore).

How about Jimmy Chamberlain from the Smashing Pumpkins? Go back and listen to their first 3 albums....fantastic drumming.

mike portnoy - dream theatre for sure

beleive it or not... joey jordison from slipknot is quite good

Lars from pre 1995 Metallica

Joey Jordison is a reallly good drummer, sadly hes in a gay band. He use to be in Anal Blast, I dont get how he went from a sweet grind band to a gay ass numetal band. I saw him play with Satyricon once, he did a good job.
