What author has more movies based on their books?

i think that there are about eighty of Stephen King's books that have been made into full-length movies, short films, or short series.
i highly doubt that ANYONE can beat that, though Shakespeare would if all the different versions that are made of each of his plays were counted

It's William Shakespeare. His works were all plays though, not books. As far as an author of books, it's probably Sir Arthur Conan Doyle because of all of the Sherlock Holmes films.
