What author do you feel does not get the recognition they deserve?

While discussing books with someone from school today I was actually shocked to realize how many great authors go so unnoticed while some mediocre( and I use that term generously) authors are praised as being brilliant.

So what authors do you feel deserve more recognition?
 
Well, I can tell you I know one who shouldn't have the recognition their getting, and that would be the author of twilight!!!

Roxana Robinson
Anne Enright
Colin Toibin
Elizabeth Strout
Ann Patchett

They're recognized by very literary people, but very rarely recognized by the general public. It's sad that people read more Danielle Steele than T.S. Eliot...or someone as brilliant as Greer or Toibin. Oh well. I guess I'm just a jaded English major.
