What are your views about black being referred to as a culture worldwide?

I was born in the uk so technically im British. But on paperwork I'm just black. I disagree with it. You where you're from or what's in your blood. My bloodline is Jamaican.

Anyway, I asked several black americans what they were and instead of saying ameerican they said "black". That is not a place. There are black people all over the world but all are referred to by their color not their origin. What's with that?
Ok guys a few things.
I've never met a white person who says they were white when I ask them what they are. They proudly say American or whatever.
Why do black Americans not claim it. You're not from Africa, you're American. That's very antipatriotic.
One more thing. Black people exist in mode places tha. The carribean and Africa. I was born and am acitizen of brittain.

I am British not black.

I think that black should not be a culture. Where they live should be. If they live in Africa they are from African culture. If they live in the US they have the American culture. There are too many exceptions for black people. TV stations, colleges, clubs at school, radio stations, award shows, and months for only black people. So really, they already have their own culture.

Either way-be you :) Who cares?

I'm just called 'white' even though I'm American with British, Prussian, and French ancestry. Races are worldwide, not cultures.
