What are YOUR top 3 Shonen Jump Manga?

A teenage boy, a bit of a punk, has his life changed forever. Through circumstances beyond his means, he is given the power to interact with spirits. Along with his human friend (or frienRAB, in Bleach's case) and a cast of spirits and demons, he must defend both his world and the next world - a beaurocratic afterlife - from demonic entities that threaten it, as a "spirit detective" - or, uhh, "soul reaper."

...of course, once Bleach gets caught up in traversing alternate dimensions and such and loses the "earthly" tones, they start to spread apart, but as far as basic plot structure and themes go, Bleach, at the start, is very similar to Yu Yu Hakusho. I like to wonder what the show would be like if they had stuck with Ichigo as the Substitute Soul Reaper - personally, that was my favorite part of the series, and it all went downhill during/after the Soul Society Arc.

Ichigo was born was born with the power to interact with spirits, but still, touche. Anyway, besides having similar beginings, the two series are not alike.

I would have to say my three favorite Shonen Jump series would have to be

1. One Piece- It has an excellent mix of action and fun.
2. Naruto Shippuden- I've always liked Naruto but when they got older and the drama got amped up to 300 the series improved.
3. Death Note- the show's plot and suspense had me at the edge of my seat every episode.
Death Note's the only one I haven't read the manga of...because the art style looks so darn ugly!

Seriously? I find Death Note to have MUCH better and more detailed artwork and character designs than most other Shounen Jump manga, especially the action series like Naruto. I find that most SJ series like Naruto, D. Gray-Man, Bleach, Hitman Reborn, Hunter X Hunter, etc., have such stale artwork and their action scenes seem nonsensical and are almost impossible to follow, for me. Death Note's artwork was always so clear and consistent, to me, personally, so its hard for me to see how anyone finRAB it ugly (at least in comparison to the norm quality of artwork for the standard SJ series). But, I guess some people just don't like the more serious style of artwork for a Shounen Jump manga.

1. Gintama: because it is made of awesome, crack and win.
2. Bakuman: this is relevant to my interests. XD
3. Bleach: even though I've lost interest in it for the most part (I think I still read out of force of habit...)

I read Naruto and Beelzebub too. Naruto's kinda in the same boat as Bleach but I was never a huge fan, and Beelzebub's still heating up so there's no telling with that one. I keep meaning to go back and pick up One Piece again but, I dunno I just haven't for some reason. XD

Well, my top 3 shounen jump manga would have to be

1) Hunter X Hunter - easily.
2) One Piece
3) Eyeshield 21 - the best sports manga i have ever read, with one of my most favorite characters ever (Hiruma), and all the other characters are great too. Its also one of the few comedy manga's that are funny enough to actually make me laugh, especially towarRAB the beginning. The fact that i enjoyed it greatly even though i have absolutely no interest in American Football says a lot.

This has changed a bit. Same reasoning, but different places in a sense.

1.) Rurouni Kenshin
2.) Psyren
3.) Samurai Deeper Kyo

The only thing that's keeping Psyren from being #1 at the moment is because it's not finished. It moves at a fast pace. Characterization is very strong, and the story is good (easy to follow). The fights are great, and then the artwork is great.

Honorable mention

Death Note
Basilisk

Hunter x Hunter - Believe it or not I'm still on chapter 75 I think. It's been a good while since I've last read this series, but I imagine that once I get back into it it'll still be just as good from when I last left off.

Change 123 - I don't read/watch these types of series because I just don't get anything out of fanservice, and the harem side of things just becomes really annoying. (A guy can only be so lucky to go through all that stuff. Creators have such an imagination) But after getting past all of that (I was definately on the verge of dropping it) I found the story to be really intriguing. There's a lot of martial arts in it, and that's a plus, and then HiFuMi is just a great character. One of the best female characters I've come across.

One Piece - I just find other things to be better. And like Bleach and Naruto, it's gotten to a point to where I find everything to be decent. No doubt it had/has/have it's great moments, but lets just say I'm over my OP craze. It's entertaining, but I'm not finding it as hooking anymore.

Edit:

Whoops, forgot Basilisk and Change 123 aren't shounen, but you get the gist of what I like at the moment.

One Piece

Dispite these fantasy powers called; Devil Fruit. These characters are just like us on everyday walks of life. And crazy at sounRAB, most can relate. There's no fancy jutsu hand movements (sorry Naruto fans). The attack's just laid out in front.

favs include
- The D brothers (Luffy & Ace)
- Trafalgar Law
- Nami
- Zoro
- Pauly
- Shanks
- Wiper

NORA

Story's about this bratty teen who has an alter-ego (think kyubi, alter ego). Yeah, he intentionally does things on his own

favs include
- Bajee (Nora's "big bro")
- Koyuki Hirasaka
- Rivan (Shikamaru of Nora)

Bakuman (replaces ES21)
