What are your opinions on whether or not there is an ongoing terrorist attack on

our economy? Mike Huckabee was on the Neal Cavuto show this morning, and he said that a source told him there is a terrorist attack on our economy. This unknown source, who Mike Huckabee promised to protect the identity of, said he believes there is a manipulation of our Stock Market by terrorists. Your thoughts? Thank you!
The "source" said he had noticed certain trends in trading via the Internet, especially near the close of the session.
 
Well, no, for one thing no one understands what is going on in the economy, it's way to large and complicated for someone to be able to manipulate it like that.

Secondly, anyone can pick out "patterns" in a data set and claim they a re meaningful. It's at best usually wishful thinking, at worst paranoid schizophrenic nonsense.

Third, entertainers make a mint by coming up with stuff like this, lots of motive to cash in on popular fears and current events.

Fourth, if say Al Qaeda wanted to attack our economy, a bomb or two in the financial centres of London or the USA would be simpler, cheaper, and more effective than some sort of behind the scenes stock manipulation.

So there's pretty good reasons to not take this idea to seriously. Though it's certainly possible that some of our allies and such may be quietly taking actions that will hopefully benefit them at our expense, but that's not really what you are talking about I don't think.
 
Ah! the mysterious 'source'.

Do you actually have any facts to pass on? Or do you really feel that there is value in a statement from you that is basically passing on a rumour by a discredited politician that wouldn't recognize the truth if it stood up and kicked him in the teeth that a mysterious source told him that he believed there was a manipulation of our stock market by unnamed terrorists?

Have I got some prime arctic water front that is going to become valuable due to global warming to sell to you. Cheap. Honest I wouldn't lie to such a discerning member of the public.
