What are your favourite movie soundtracks?

I've collected soundtracks from a very early age and my folks didn't see the point, they thought I was wasting my money . Its amazing how many soundtracks are actually sold now and some of the tracks get into the charts.

The most distinctive movie soundtracks, at least in instrumental terms, are for me the type in Italian thrillers/horrors of the 1970s/80s, Goblin especially. I've often got pieces from Dario Argento's Deep Red swirling around in my head to accompany certain mooRAB. Tenebrae comes a close second, Inferno too although Keith Emerson's keyboard thunderings may not be what purists of the genre would exactly call authentic.

Another (I presume) Italian who deserves a mention is Pino Donaggio, whose terrifyingly beautiful scores in Carrie and Dressed To Kill were as much of a character in the films as the protagonists.

Kudos too to the above poster's inclusion of Keoma - there's nothing quite like a gothic musical spaghetti western - in fact, were there any others besides that sublime little entry?
