What are your favourite films?

Mine are all here

But favs of my collection are:

12 Monkeys (hence James Cole )
All the bond films, especially that one.
The Sweeney Films
All The Hugh Grant Films
Oh no, its no good I love them all.

I do have a few traditions with my films, I always like to watch lethal Weapon and Die hard at Christmas time.

JC, apart from 12 Monkeys I'd say your list was my idea of hell;)

Never been able to sit through a single James Bond film (apart from Live and Let Die, which I sat through as a kid and it scared the beJesus out of me). Don't like The Sweeny and Hugh Grant? Nope, sorry, I'll watch him in Small Time Crooks but thats about it.

:o

What about all the Caine films or the De Niro films.

If you like something a bit tamer, I think Holiday in the Sun is in that list starring Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen :D:D:D:D (My daughters , not mine).

I don't think it's available on DVD yet. Put my order in months ago but they keep putting the date forward. I think they're hoping to cash in on the Hollywood remake 'Quarantine', which comes out in October (I think). Looks pretty much the same as the Spanish version but not so realistic. If you can get hold of (Rec) though I'd recommend it, I haven't been so scared in years, it was great fun.

[REC] is amazing!! There is a 2 disc out soon here in the UK, hoping for a nice edition to come out. The ending!!

All About My Mother, nice to see that in someones list, my favourite from the director.

Can't wait for that (REC) DVD to turn up, it's like waiting for christmas though. Hear it's got additional scenes as extras.

All About My Mother is a gem of a film. In fact anything by Almodovar is pure gold. It's a shame Penelope Cruz is only known in this country for having that fling with Tom Cruise and a make-up ad, she's a mighty fine actress. She was wonderful in Volver.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show
E.T.: The extra terrestrial
Ghost
Thelma and Louise
Moulin Rouge
Bridget Jones' Diary
Pretty Woman
Dirty Dancing
Grease
Labyrinth
The Witches Of Eastwick
Look Who's Talking:D

And sooo many more!

I hate Micheal Caine with a passion. De Niro, he's in one of my favorite films - Jackie Brown, but other than that I can take him or leave him, these days it's more 'leave him' though.

Yay. Mary-Kate and Ashley, who doesn't like them? I jest.

I was just looking at your list, American Werewolf looks a little out of place in there, I get the impression you don't like horror films, am I right or wrong.

Deathproof is so cool.

All time fav film is 'The Hours'

Closely followed by

The Chumscrubber
Eyes Wide Shut
Mulholland Drive/Wild At Heart/Inland Empire
Volver
The Devil Wears Prada
The Interpreter
Bridget Jones
Crash
Magnolia
Babel
The Last Kiss
Transamerica
Derailed
Zodiac
The Butterfly Effect
Ocean's Films
Closer
The Inside Man

Deathproof is the coolest. I've had so many punch ups with people who tell me otherwise. It was a great film.

I love horror films but only the good ones, or the truly awful ones that are also good. Favorite horror would have to be (Rec) by a mile, it just blew me away. But I also love 'The Thing', 'The Dead Trilogy' (not the god awful new films), Friday 13th, general splatter-fests.

In no particular order of preference:

  • Goodfellas - brilliant, and top soundtrack too
  • Devil Wears Prada - Meryl Streep, nuff sed
  • In Cold Blood - this really moved me, was still thinking about it for hours after we left the cinema
  • Full Metal Jacket - OUTSTANDING!!!
  • Jaws - it wouldn't have been anything like as good if the mechanical shark had actually worked - they HAD to produce a great story with class acting
  • Leon - Gary Oldman makes with for me
  • Zodiac - they seemed to get every detail right in this film, it even looks proper 70s
  • Shawshank Redemption - Morgan Freeman is awesome in this, great job all round actually
  • The Italian Job ('you were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!! :D:D:D)
  • Gandhi - OMG I cried so much when his wife dies
  • Bowling for Columbine - not a huge Michael Moore fan, but this one gets to me every time
  • Dog Soldiers - this makes me laugh out loud, as well as gross me out half the time :D
  • Napoleon Dynamite - another one that makes me laugh out loud, esp the bit with the cow :D
  • The Breakfast Club - because it just IS a great movie

My favourite films are:

Back to the Future Trilogy
Jurassic Park (first film)
Love Actually
Ratatouille
ET
Wallace & Gromit
Johnny English
Pirates of the Caribbean
Bridget Jones' Diary

I have other favourites but I can't quite remember them all at the moment

My favourite films are-

Wanted- Bloody Brilliant!!
Titanic- So sad I can only watch it when I'm feeling depressed because for some reason crying makes me feel better
Kingdom of Heaven (the directors cut)- So much better than the orignal, had a lot more of Eva Green in who is one of my fav actresses
Lord of the rings films- Loved all of them!
Attonement- So sad, but so good.
Saw III- The most gruesome out of all the saw films so in some kinda sick way that meant I liked it the most :o
American Pie films- Hilarious!!
Mean Girls- Everyone loves to watch a girly film once in a while.
Bring it on- I shouldn't like it but I can't help it :o
Closer- Jude Law yum!
Crash- Very thought provoking
28 weeks later- So much more gruesome than the first, loved it!!
Girl Interupted- Angelina Jolie was excellent
