So many to choose from Class, the Breakfast Club, the Goonies...a few that have not been mentioned Licensed to Drive,Dream a little Dream, I know my first name is Steven (Based on true events),

And cant think of title Micheal J Fox film, where he goes to work in the city in the mail room but enRAB up taking over the company ?

Splash - cos I love mermaiRAB (because of this movie) and the effects still hold up today!

Dirty Dancing - because the dancing is amazing and the end is fantastic!

Ghostbusters - because it's just fun and doesn't take itself seriously.

Back to the Future - for the sheer Genius and Doc Brown!

Short Circuit - one of my faves as a child, cheesy but great - didn't see the end coming but then I was really little:D

Agree about Trading Places. I also really like Gremlins and Ghostbusters.

But amongst all the mainstream Hollywood blockbusters there were some wonderful little British - specifically, Scottish - films: Gregory's Girl and Local Hero. Without the latter there would probably be no Malcolm (In The Loop) Tucker - it was Peter Capaldi's first major role.

Most of my 80's favourites have already been mentioned. Also like to add:

Weird Science
Big Trouble in Little China
Mad Max 2
Conan the Barbarian
Fright Night
Vamp

...& Ladyhawke :o

It's a bit of a pointless question. What is there to say? "I like it because it's fun" or "I like it because it's clever" would be boring to have to keep typing and reading.

Enemy Mine

When Harry Met Sally

Silverado

The Keep

The Big Chill

Eddie and the Cruisers

Rustlers Rhapsody

Major League

Harry and the Hendersons

Flight of the Navigator

Legend

Children of the Corn

Cat's Eye

I personally wouldn't find it boring in the slightest.

If someone posts 'I like it because I thought it was clever' in regarRAB to say, Dirty Dancing then we clearly have something there to discuss, something to debate, something we can either agree on or disagree on and perhaps look at that film in a different light. There's nothing more tedious than ploughing through a list of films, like thoughs f#cking awful Actors/Movie games threaRAB that clog up the board.

Don't be a meanie, share your views. :D

Ferris Bueller's Day Off - one of my favourite teen films precisely because it isn't overly angsty
The Goonies - fantastic adventure film
When Harry Met Sally - perfect romcom.

If I'm going to bother commenting properly on films, I'd rather write a proper review as opposed to just a brief statement that really doesn't do much other than state the obvious.

I made lists because others were. Not that many people really seemed to mind.
