What are your experiences with/opinions about ereaders (Kindle, Kobo...)?

I guess you don't have to give up physical books to have an ereader, and I (am probably one of the last to) admit that having hundreds of books at the tip of your finger wherever you are is a great advantage, but what will happen several years down the road, after you've bought 500-4000 ebooks, and technology moves on (like vinyl-cassette-CD-MP3) and it is no longer convenient to use your little electronic? Won't you wish you had bought those binded books?
& sorry to those of you who answered my question similar to this several minutes ago, it was deleted before I had the chance to read the replies!
