On my way to school, I got into a car accident. There was a green light and the car in front of me wouldn't go, so she told me to pass her. Without any room in front, I backed up and accidentally hit the person behind me. The only damage to my car was the under-ride guard, which was right under my rear bumper. As far as the guy behind me, I totally screwed over his bumper. We exchange phone numbers. He said we can just forget about this if I would pay him $500. But when I asked my friend, he said that the car insurance will fix things up. I do have car insurance under my parent's name but I also don't want them to know about this. What should I do?
