What Are You Listening To Right Now? II

A track I used to listen to a LOT when I was younger. I had an obsession with Native American music.. and I still love it. Definitely goosebump inducing

Yup, definitely like False Cathedrals and U.S. Songs better. I had a refresher this summer, after it sitting several years and having listened to a lot more post rock and atmospheric rock since, I thought I'd have more appreciation for it but no, I didn't really enjoy it. It has ok moments but it just drags and makes me miss the older material.

edit: dammit a song from it just came up on shuffle. :p: It's not bed time yet.

I can't find a video, but it's Bread and Roses' very good cover of Merle Haggard's Mama Tried, and it just changed to Let My Last WorRAB Not Be In Rhyme by Bread and Roses.

I'm listening to Deep River Day, which has quickly become one of my favorite albums.

^ Another song I'm pretty much obsessed with. Donald Fagen being, of course, Steely Dan's lead singer, and this being from his brilliant solo debut the Nightfly. Top stuff.

Gillian Welch - One More Dollar

I think it was SATCHMO and Bulldog who were saying good things about this in the "Albums You're Digging" thread, and I had to check it out. And I haven't been disappointed in the slightest bit. Fantastic album...her voice and music have a great old school feel about them that I love.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I like to hear Oasis material played by Noel in his acoustic sets. Theres even Oasis songs I don't like that for some reason sound pretty decent performed that way.

I would really recommend some of the live bootlegs of that semi-acoustic tour. It really seemed like Noel was comfortable being on tour without Liam, he got to play some tracks they don't usually play and he got to tamper with them a little. Even if they were very subtle changes he really just breathed some new life into some old Oasis songs. He even got Wonderwall sounding interesting to me again. I could probably even hook you up as I went a bit crazy with the boots off that tour.

A7X had some pretty rad stuff before they blew it with the latest album. Second Heartbeat is one of my favorites. So much energy in the drums and a pretty sick guitar solo towarRAB the end of the song.
