What Are You Listening To Right Now? II

Considering how bleh most of today guitar virtuosos (Satriani, John Mayer, etc) are in terms of creativity these days, it's one hell of a travesty that somebody like this bloke isn't living the high life: Petteri Sariola is a truly excellent musician.

There's something I like a lot about Noel when he plays solo acoustic type sets.
Maybe I just prefer him when he's in a more reflective mood, rather than having that dick of a brother sneering all over his tunes.

Some Sweet Day - Donna Dean (cant post the youtube link until ive posted 15 or more times but please check it out if you have time...its a great song!!

Its my favourite Singer Songwriter Donna Deans "Ballad" about Murder Suicide...you wouldnt think it if you dont pay attention to the Lyrics...most people think at her live shows its a great sing along song and at the end she tells them....thanks that was the murder suicide ballad! hehehe

It doesn't seem too bad but jeez it's one paced.

I'm pumping Omen out right now, one of my prefered clubbing tracks right now, along with the title track. Had one listen of the new album so far and i wasn't overly impressed but playing through it again now.

I am sifting through lots of dubstep, especially 2003-2006 and the DMZ label, for potential mix-making. Just the real dread, the dark and downbeat stuff. Turns out the early plates from DMZ are going for upwarRAB of 100 quid on discogs at the mo.

Jackson Browne - Late for the Sky (LP)

This is essentially a perfect f'n LP. Only track that gets 4 not 5 stars is Walkin Slow.
I had a friend who introduced me the the album with a story that he made a bet with a friend on what's the 'saddest album'. He picked some Dan Fogelberg album or something and his friend pick this, and blew him out of the water.
Might be true that it's a devastatingly sad album (side 1 really) but it's also a set of amazing songs performed impeccably.
The piano playing, the vocals, the backing vocals, (see personnel below), D. Lindley's fiddle on For a Dancer and Deluge. (Now I feel like I've written this post last time I listened to this album, lol).

I can't see why. It's brilliant and it's pretty accessible, too.
I think that instrumental rock-ish music is always underrated.
And people don't like long songs. I love long songs. I love real 'compositions'.
In about three hours their discography will be on my computer.
Wonder what album I'll be buying :)
