While I probably couldn't stomach a whole Satriani album nowadays without the guitar workout vibe overpowering me, I think he's definitely one of the more restrained shredders who shows actual songwriting potential.

Sleepflower's got one of the catchiest riRAB I've ever heard to it, so it's another good one. Roses In the Hospital or La Tristesse would be my pick of the bunch though. Can see what you mean about the lack of a cohesive direction on the album as well. There are a few songs on it I just plain don't like as well. Then again, it's been ages since I last got through it end-to-end, so I may get back to it someday.

Somehow I can't stop listening to this although it's quite funny.
Uusi Fantasia is a Finnish experimental electro band. For this song they collaborated with Freeman who used to be a popular singer here in Finland back in the 70's. They also made this song in the 70's style although this song was released only a month ago or so.
