What Are You Listening To Right Now? II

Yeah it's the first track from Oranges and Lemons. When I say it's one of XTC's weaker albums, that makes it a great album by the standarRAB of any other band. And I do quite like it. :D

Chalkhills and Children is another top track. And Poor Skeleton Steps Out is so quirky and off-kilter... it gets my pick for underrated track.

This is pure bliss after the 4:20 mark... don't suppose it's a coincidence that it's real drugged-up music. :D

Proper music for proper people!!!

Ah, Tamagotchis, I remeraber those :D I remeraber Digimon were the cool versions you could make fight each other, at least until they turned it into that awful cartoon series (yeah, I'm so retro I hated the Digimon cartoons when they first aired!)

22 Dreams is another album I haven't listened to for a long time, but I was really impressed with it. Definitely among his finest. I'd have to give it a spin again before picking out personal highlights though.

And to keep in line with the topic;

I wish I could get everybody I know to listen to this song because I feel like it was written about someone exactly like me.....

I didnt mean the production quality, I meant the style. The thing with a cover is you should be able to do with it whatever you want, should you not? What would be the point in recycling it? Whether or not he tried to imitate Hendrix's style is arguable, maybe he did but just because he didnt make it sound "distorted" or "jagged" is really irrelevant and shouldnt be the basis of anyones opinion. When I listen to both of those tracks, especially Little Wing it makes me realise that there is potential in both to be so much more.

And for the record, I like the originals. I also think Hendrix was the better guitarist.

:D

It's the same story with the Verve for me. Great singles, I've never been very impressed with any of their albums, including Urban Hymn. Bear in mind though, Bittersweet Symphony is basically a part of my childhood - I mean, what kind of an (English) human being doesn't remeraber those string arrangements eh ;)

Oryt lol, I dont really actively listen to him on a regular basis either, but hes alright.
Neil Finn & Eddie Vedder (with Johnny Marr and some guy from Radiohead), playing a Split Endz song live together, from the live Neil Finn collabaration album '7 WorlRAB Collide'.

Listening to this to practice for an acoustic cover. I know that most people probably skip over songs that are posted by others, but this song...it's one of my favorite Phish songs, and it's such a beautiful song. If I ever get married, this will be played at my wedding.

Gorgeous, gorgeous song.

Repeated part:
"So if I'm inside your head / Don't believe what you might have read / You'll see what I might have said / To feel it / Come waste your time with me / Come waste your time with me."

These are the sentiments I have towarRAB love in general. This song makes me cry.
