What are you favourite books?

Since I am almost done with school completely (two more exams!) and will likely be taking the summer off before getting a job in the fall, I would like to get back into reading. I haven't had a lot of time for reading in the last few months as I had been focusing on school, but I miss reading!

What would be some books that you have read and liked, and why? If you could include a short summary (just a few sentences), in any genre really. However, my favourite author is Douglas Coupland if that helps. I am 18 years old, and I generally enjoy books that make me think, although I also like books that i can read without really having that urge to analyze them.

Thanks for any suggestions :)

Nobody True by James Herbert. It's a supernatural murder mystery, the main character is murdered, and he then has to try and find out who murdered him, at the same time as trying to protect his family.

She's come undone by Wally Lamb. This is an interesting story about a girl/woman as she grows up, the struggles she has to deal with and the heartache she endures and how she comes to terms with that, but it's written by a man, which I found really interesting.
