What are the three stars on the US soccer logo all about?!

I am in no way saying that England sucks or is a bad team. To be honest, I support the England national team. If they are not playing the US or a team that effects the US then I root for them. I just dont think you are giving the US team the respect you should. I have friends in Germany right now. I have talked to them in the last few days and they have been telling me how much respect many of the European fans have for the US team, many of those fans being English.

By the way, the MLS has many foreign players. Most of them from Central American countries. Many players including Beckham and Ronaldo have expressed interested in playing in the MLS in the next few years. Some European players have already started to migrate over such as Hollands Dave Van De Bergh which was just transfered to my KC Wizards.

You seem to think that the US team would have no chance against the English team and I know it would be a better match than you think.

Just drop your biased and realize that the US team is quickly becoming one of the worlds better teams.

I am very serious. Italy is very lucky to still be in this tournament, with the exception of yesterday they have played like complete shit and I dont even believe they are one of the 20 best teams in this tournament. The US outplayed them for 43 minutes with a man down. What does that tell you? Italy is very overrated and it sucks they made the semis because they do not deserve to be there.

Mexico is a good team but the US is better than them.

Well... the U.S. is known as the "Stars & Stripes" and Nike designed a logo for them with the stars and stripes...

I did wonder why they would put stars on there, though. Other teams earned their stars...

Beckham BLOWS

I've never seen a more over-rated player than this douchebag pretty-boy.

Let's remember his fabulous bend-it-like-Beckham penalty kicks of recent memory. Over the net and into the stands off a penalty? TWICE?

Give me a break man. You guys should thank your lucky stars Rooney was able to play after all or else your team would have been an embarrasment.

Let's remember the stunning performance you had against T&T ... sure you beat them 2-0 but ... damn, for a while there they sure gave you a run for your money. You guys had so many ridiculously good opportunities and you fucked so many of them up so badly I was seriously going like before you finally managed to score your 2 goals near the end of the match.

First, no WC team is shitty.

Second, you have a right to talk since England has played so well! I have never seen a team with so much talent be a complete waste on the field. Look for them to make an exit today.

England have been playing well enough to have a good chance of getting to the semis .
We are - man for man - the best team in the tournament. we just have a shitty coach (i have full sympathy with you Americans and that brucy chap) and lots of injury problems.

kick off in 31 minutes, it's gonna be fun.

He is still, in my opinion, one of the best crossers of the ball and free kick takers in the world. He may be past his best, but he captains one of the best footballing nations, used to be the inspiration of the most sucsessful club in the world and is now plays for Real Madrid, a team known for signing 'Galacticos'. His payroll and the fact that he starts week-in-week-out for Real Madrid speaks for itself. Are you telling me he wouldn't make the USA squad?

Sure, he missed a pen...his speciality is free kicks, not penalties. I believe he scored a fantastic penalty against Argentina last time we played, for a 1-0 win.

We were unlucky that Rooney got injured in the first place, not lucky to have him back. It is true that he is essential to our side, and we would have had practically no chance of winning the WC without him, but he is back and will soon be on fit again. He has had almost no practical involvement in our WC campaign so far, but the mental aspect of having one of the best players in the world back in your squad has been huge, and that was seen in the last 20 minutes against T+T.

Thanks for proving my point moron. (it's not like EVERY GAME of your WC campgain has given you a 'run for your money'.)
Our midfield created plenty of chances, the problem was our strikers ARE NOT FIT. Rooney has had a broken foot and Owen has been injured all season. In the last 16 match our strikers have a chance of being fit, we'll see how we perform if they are. As I said, our problem is not that our strikers our crap but that they are injured. The fact that we have won every game - with most of our goals having to come from midfield players (such as becham, oh the irony) - just shows how deep and strong a team we are. When Owen gets back on form and Rooney is fit again England will start scoring plenty of goals. We have had injury problems with key players such as Gerrard and Neville - as well we obviously Rooney and Owen - and yet we are still unbeaten and looking in good form.
Against Sweeden Sven is playing an experimental side (we never beat Sweeden, having a Sweedish coach ftl). Carrick and Hardgreaves are both playing, and it will be Rooney and Owen's first match together in a long time.

If you want to see England at full strength, watch them in the last 16 or the quarters. We should have Rooney back on form by then, and scoring almost at will.

So, do you have any proper points of argument about why America > US, or how our players suck?

I never said America > England at soccer.

I never said your players suck, just that Beckham does and that in the last game with T&T you guys missed a hell of a lot of good opportunities.

Also I'm cheering for England but so far you guys have been :meh:

Beckham does not suck. There are many players competing for a slot in the England midfield - which basically has three slots permenantly filled in Beckham, Gerrard and Lampard - and yet Beckham manages to start and captain every match.

Clearly he is a good player.

ok, which of these helps your argument for the US being better than Italy...feel free to pick and choose

A) we're undefeated in international play for 22 matches
B) we dominated Czech
C) we dominated Ghana
D) the US tied us with an OG and didn't score a single point in the rest of the group stages (ie: lost to teams we dominated)
E) managed to draw a penalty and score a goal and win a game we were down a man an entire half
F) italy is in the semi finals
G) italy hasn't conceded a goal (kicked by an opponent) the entire fucking tournament

what were you saying about the US again?

I have to agree, Beckham is one hell of a player. He might not be in his prime any longer but he is still a force to be reckoned with on the field.
