I mean, we all have seen wonderful bikes that no matter if they are 20 or 30 years old, with the proper care or a fine restoration, look great and have an outstanding performance. .. on the other hand, an almost new bike that has been exposed to drastic weather or hard use without proper maintenance, will be a ruin in months...
So, I need to know what are the 'abuses' that really can damage any bike:
- Weather changes without protection (rain, humidity, heat, sand...)
- Very heavy riders (maybe over 200 lbs for a regular bike)
- Total misuse (taking it to damaged roads if it's a road bike or so...)
- Lack of regular maintenance (years just hung in the garage or so...)
- Any other aspect you want to add....
Thank you al guys, I really need these references since I'm about to write a column on this topic, and my own experience is obviously not enough!
