What are the steps, once I have purchased my aquarium, that I need to do so...

1. Fill the aquarium with clean bottled water, add some water purifier (only a little)
2. When you buy a fish they come in plastic bags full of water, do not take the fish out of the plastic bag, just take the lid of the tank and lay the bags on the water surface (they will float) This is to stop the fish getting sick from sudden temperature drop.
3. After around 10 minutes cut the top off the bags and put them in the water, let the fish swim out by themselves DO NOT TIP THEM OUT.
4. Give them afew pinches of food and leave them to settle, feed them at least once a day and the will hopefully stay alive.

NOTE
Make sure your filter is always turned on and clean the tank regularly.

PS
I used to own some fish but I had a goldfish who ate the other fish, I don't really know why because I fed them enough, I guess I just bought a cannibal fish.

if u plan on getting tropical fish...buy a heater and set the temperature to 27 degrees Celsius, a air pump and a filter is optional.....BUT REMEMBER TO LEAVE THE WATER FOR A WEEK OR MORE BEFORE YOU PUT THE FISH IN OR THEY WILL DIE.

...my fish won't die? I'm about to buy an aquarium, and have read online that fish die really easily at the start of a new aquarium, this is mostly for the more experienced people who have had aquariums before. I don't want to kill my fish. My aquarium will be 55 gallons, i heard that the bigger the aquarium the less mistakes will be bad. Thanks.
