What are the similarities between the US and ancient Rome??

Most of the similarities are going to be found in the governments and the way each is run. Mainly the people electing their political representatives and those representatives voting on various issues. Another example is how both try to take over the world...lol.
 
The United States and Rome both governing powers had spread out so far that they had isolated their people from a feeling of union and solidarity in thought and beliefs. Much like what happens when you have self-centered parents.
