What are the rules to renting a car?

Apparently the Enterprise I live near is one of the few that has age restrictions. I have to be 21. I'm only 20.

I'm not sure what to do. I have an emergency trip to Wisconsin (I live in Missouri) that will happen extremely early this Saturday morning. I would need to pick the car up tomorrow as the rental companies don't open until 9am on Saturdays. My car will never make it. It barely runs as it is.

If I have someone else rent the car, what are the rules on that?
If I was to get pulled over for some reason, what would happen?
I have a clean driving record. I don't believe I'll get pulled over, but it's still a fear and I would like to know the outcome before I do it.
I should probably make this clear since I forgot to. There aren't any cars for me to borrow. I already asked.

And please be specific on the consequences! I already know I'll get in trouble. I just need to know how much and what will happen.
 
Typically you have to be at least 21 for liability/insurance purposes, unless you are military. If you get pulled over they will likely contact the rental company and the person who rented the car out to you could face some huge consequences, along with you. I would just ask a friend if you can borrow their car, and pay them for the time you'll be away and let them use your car... the risks do not outweigh the rewards.
