...different school? Right now, I am a 3rd year in my current Ph.D program. I'm wondering if anyone here has switched schools after already working so heavily with another Ph.D program. The problem here is that I don't feel like I'm receiving appropriate assistance from my professors nor proper expertise in my field--mainly because my research topic has changed over the course of my graduate work (social studies).
I always find myself working alone in giving presentations at national and international conferences, while others, on the other hand, are working closely with their professors.
That being said, I have already applied to two other universities whom I feel specialize AND update better in my field and am hoping to hear from them soon. I know transferring will postpone my graduation but I feel like this is something I should prioritize more.
