what are the qualifications for becoming a sports writer?

hey i was just wondering i play sports myself im a line man and a weight lifter and i think this is a job i would like and be good at because i love sports and im good at writing so i was wondering what kind of education,experiance,skills.ect do i need to get a job as a sports writer for a newspaper or magazine
