What are the odds of a kitten surviving outdoors.?

When my husband and I were camping, we noticed a kitten at least 12 weeks old. We think it may have either been lost or abandoned. None of the other campers knew who owned the kitten. We tried to get it to come to us but it kept running off, very timid. Somebody thinks that a camper who left earlier may have abandoned it. I feel bad that we couldn't do anything for it but did let the park ranger know. I just hope it will be fine.
this is New York State, Binghamton State Park the area gets snowstorms but they are not as bad as Buffalo
 
cats are well able to take care of themselves. even properly trained house cats are able to catch mice for themselves when they want!

and if the kitten is shy it probably wont go too near roads or other dangerous animals.
 
if u give food every day they will come to u also u need to get cats aid ,blue cross to help to get him the poor thing is frighting for his life out there get him some help, odds are not great on his on with out people to feed him
