Hi. I'm interested in building a very small eco friendly house, probably less that 100 sq ft, and I'm trying to find out about how easy it is to do all this in New York State. What are the rules there concerning tiny houses, especially with regard to buying land to put it on. Does the land still have to pass a perk test, even if I use a composting toilet. An official in Connecticut said it did there. And if I build smaller than 100 sq ft out in the country in New York State, do I need a building permit? How about electrical inspection? Also, do I have to have a well? Also, I noticed that a lot of guys are putting their tiny houses on wheels. Does that get around some of the regs? Sorry about the density of the question count, but I have no idea what I'm doing.
