What are the confidentiality laws regarding school counselors in Australia?

If a school counselor discovered a student was harming themselves, not to a point that they were endangering their life, and were taking dieting to unsafe levels, and they made it clear they did not want their parents to find out about these behaviors, what laws are there in place regarding what the school counselor would do (would she be obliged to tell the student's parents)?
 
From my experience with Counselors in NSW, i don't think they are obliged to tell unless your going to kill yourself. Also you should go see a counseler regardless if this is for yourself. No matter what the laws you WILL be better off seeing a counseler then not seeing one.
