What are the conditions coming under Indian culture?

Could you explain? Why Indian culture are so partial when coming to females? Naturally, both Male and female are equal but why still most of the people are following those traditions and name it as culture?
NOTE: I know the positive side of Indian culture, but my question is about the partiallity of Indian culture for females?
