What are the character differences between Ford enthusiasts and Holden enthusiasts in

Australia? The rivalry between Holden and Ford is apparently a tradition in Australia. The two cars are incredibly similar though, at least for someone who has grown up in Europe, like me (I mean, come on, take a huge, generic car with a trailer hitch and a V8, and it could easily qualify as either brand).
What makes a Ford person, and what makes a Holden person, in Australia?
We know there are Elvis people and Beatles people (the former being more soulful, the latter more intellectual, if my intuition is anything to go by).
Any theories?
