What are the chances that the 2009 Toyota Prius will be a worse model than the 2008?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to wait to order an 09 or to go ahead and find a new 08. I already know that the major overhaul to the Prius will not be the 09 model. I would rather get a 2nd Generation Prius since they've had time to work out the kinks (and the first model of the 3rd Generation will likely be.. well, kink-y :D

I've heard and read some very good things about the 2008 model, and you would THINK that a 2009 model would be even further perfected, but I think they're making small changes to the battery and some other things. So what are the chances that the minor changes to the Prius will actually be a detriment to the car and that the 2008 would actually be a better model in retrospect?

The Yahoo pages show it is 4" longer, sleeker, and a bit more stylish in front than the 2008 model. The engine goes from 1.5 to 1.8 liters and the electric motor is larger. Even with the added weight it is supposed to as fuel efficient if not beet, especially in town. Also, they say the price will be the same if not lower (depends on the yen to dollar ratio). This late in the year, I would wait for the new model, drive them both and see if you like the changes. Undoubtedly there will be more electronics and other goodies added to the car but if they close-out the older models you may get a deal too good to pass up. Of course, Priuses don't stay on the lots very long.
