What are the best sprinting shoes and what can I do to make myself faster?

Okay, I'm training for the 100m, 200m and 800m races that are coming up in around 6-7 weeks. I'm 14 years old (male) and much better at sprinting than long distance - so 100m and 200m are my favorites. And my game-plan for the 800m is to stick with the pack and then out-run them at the end =) at the moment the only running shoes I have are old joggers that are slightly too big, so I've got room in the front and my toes move a bit. They don't feel very good for sprinting - and I can't be bothered buying spikes. The track I'm racing on is a tartan track - is there a pair of running shoes good for sprinting, without spikes? Does it matter about the design of the shoe, or does it matter about how light the shoe is and how well it fits you?

And any tips on how to increase my speed? At the moment I'm just sprinting 100m a couple of times and doing laps and stretches.. nothing specific. I've been told that doing squats and lunges help.. any other tips? Thank you!
