I'm planning a day trip to Chicago for my boyfriend's birthday in May and would like to make a reservation at a nice restaurant. I plan on staying downtown, most likely in Magnificent Mile area, and would like to find a restaurant nearby (preferably in walking distance). Ideally, the restaurant would have a hip, yet intimate, romantic atmosphere (I'm thinking Italian or Mexican). It doesn't necessarily have to be the most up-scale restaurant in Chicago, nor do I want the cost of the meal to be budget breaking, but I don't mind spending $100-150 for the two of us.
