I apologize in advance for lots of questions, but I REALLY need your help! I want to work in the film industry but I think I'm going at it all the wrong way!

I want to be a film editor, preferably of short films or music videos and live in Nashville, TN eventually. First off, is that even realistic? I've heard that the entire film industry is overcrowded and illusive. Is this true? How is it in Nashville? What places would you recommend? And what other related areas of interest would you recommend if film doesn't work out for me? Is film a even a realistic field to get a good paying/and somewhat steady job in? (to pay the bills and live comfortably AKA: not paycheck to paycheck or lots of debts)

Secondly, I have applied to the Art Institute of Salt Lake, but now I'm EXTREMELY nervous because of all the negative reviews I have read about all the Art Institutes! I need a school that will help me to break into this hard industry, help me get a job that pays the bills, and won't bury me in $90,000 to $100,000 debt!!!!!! What are the best film schools??? For what I'm wanting to do? Best for price AND reputation among employers????? Please help!
