what are the basics to know about going to new jersey garden state mall from...

...new york city for the first time? I'm going this weekend with my mom, but we don't want to get lost.. and I just want a couple more opinions besides getting directions. Does anyone have any important ticket, bus, travel, etc information I should definitely know?
For example.. if they take my ticket at the bus stop? what to expect..? how long the walk is.. if the bus stops in front of the mall.. on the way back to NYC, if you're allowed to buy another ticket.. or you have to buy round trip?

Sorry, it's a lot of questions.. but I'm afraid of getting lost or missing a bus or something. BTW, I'm going to be taking the NJ bus at port authority bus terminal if it makes things more specific..
Anything you think that I should know or would help, please do, feel free to answer.

Don't worry about it, the Garden State Plaza mall is on Route 4 and there are about a dozen different buses that run along Route 4 to the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal, so, even if you miss one, don't worry about it there'll be another very soon.

Actually, rather than take the buses from the 42nd St. Port Authority, which take FOREVER to get to the mall because they're local buses and they stop every few blocks, you might want to consider taking the A train up to the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal instead, because the buses you can catch there get you over to the mall in, like, 15 minutes!! I think you just want any bus that goes out to Fairlawn, as I recall.

Other than that, the mall is, well, just a mall, really, although, as I recall, it's one of the very first malls ever built in the entire USA!

What an incident! I always go to that mall, and go there with my friends! U can take bus number 163 from the Port Authority Bus Station at 42nd street and 8th avenue, which goes to the mall. The bus usually stops at Passaic Street in Paramus, u will have to walk from there to the mall, but don't worry it's not that long. Ur not going to get lost, if u r really worried then ask the bus driver to tell u when u reach the mall. The mall is great and I am sure u will like it a lot. Good luck!
