I have a 2002 Silverado. 25 minutes after I drove the truck off the lot I had a new radio in it )) since then I have changed it 2 more times.
First that year truck does not have an input spot for your Ipod.
since I got my Ipod (18 months ago) I have not listened to the radio once.
OK most factory radio's are very basic. low on watts middle of the road on distortion rating. and not too many bells and whistles .
most after market radio's are not much better.
not until you get into the high end radios will you begin to hear the difference. all your top brand makers will make lower end models to compete with the junk models out there
Kenwood Excelon series is nice
Alpine is making a comeback
Sony has some good ones too
ONE draw back. all your factory radio's have the dimmer switch hooked into the vehicles dimmer. you will lose that function once you install an after market radio.
