What are the 4 characteristics of a civilization?

My class is studying Mesopotamia and we need to learn the 4 characteristics of a civilization-- what are they?
 
the womans place in the society as the determining factor for success/greatness

the environment..ability to cultivate the land and be self sustaining for all food/supplies,water etc not relying on trade from OTHER countries

the proximity to being invaded..safety, the military, good at protecting the civilization just in case.

the belief system that its unitary..belief in same God,same system of morals etc..not being divided from within from "new ideas" or outside influences..in respect to religions or beliefs.

only with those 4 things can a society last and by lack of any ONE of those 4 things they FALL.
 
1. Living together in communities.
2. The ability to read and write.
3. Having a set of rules, leaders or organization to society
4. Using unique skills to benefit all
