What are some ways that technology can destroy our civilization?

One way that technology can destroy our civilization is by people becoming too reliant on it's passive forms and eventually ceasing to think, research, and question things for themselves.

A great example of this that I will leave as evidence is something that I saw today. I was on yahoo answers and someone posted What are some ways that technology can destroy our civilization? I needs some facts for this topic. Leave examples and evidence too please. I like to pare it down to one ultimate answer. Are man's striving toward progress self destructive, then it follows man is self destructive?
Is trying to fix everything the right way? Can it be fixed?
Or should the problems we make be left alone?
 
where i live buses blow smoke and that smoke goes to alot of places and if that smoke goes in your body it takes uup space for breathing.
 
if robots take over the world, also they could destroy you personal stuff if you get extremely addicted to video games or something.
