What are some types of unrhymed but metrical poetry?

Besides the Haiku, that a beginner stuck in rhyming might try?
I do not look in the dictionary. I write a line and poof! It takes off on it's own, before I can catch it I have another rhyme. I need some discipline and structure that forces me to try stick within it's guidelines, I think.
 
I prefer most the iambic tetrameter. Here is an example
da DUM da DUM da DUM da DUM
eg:Come live with me and be my love
See how that flows?

Or iambic pentameter which is more common, as it closely simulates our spoken word
da DUM da DUM da DUM da DUM da DUM
eg:To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
 
Blank verse sonnets and sestinas are very common, and allow you to write metrically without the further constraint of achieving a rhyme. I have written dozens of each, as well as some much longer pieces exclusively in blank verse (usually iambic pentameter, but occasionally tetrameter lines). Try it love, it's not so hard and it's very enjoyable.
 
you know, I have always believed poetry flows from the heart, not the dictionary, looking for words that rhyme. I write from my soul, and the words do not always rhyme.
Poetry can be more than words too.
